Corbyn and his yellow streak
God help us if this man is ever allowed to lead our country.

He has a yellow streak a mile wide and his latest dismal cowardly display is nothing short of traitorous. The twat should be locked up in the tower.

I hope he doesn't read that. He might be hurt.

I'm glad that always has brought that to my attention. I had not thought of the hapless Corbyn as being a coward.

He should grow some and be like Blair. Now there was a man of backbone and principle who never shirked from putting someone else's son in danger.

We definitely need a new Corbyn thread. Is he the new religion?

Like most of the East End Nurse I come from hard working Labour supporting stock. I, like my father fought for this country and I'm just glad my old man isn't around to witness this gutless oaf lead the party rapidly into political oblivion.

Nothing brave about sending young men out to get killed and maimed while your sitting safely at home.

Lertie. It is in fact a very brave thing to do.

Couldn't agree more Lertie.
Maybe Corbyn just doesn't see how bombing Syria will actually help.

The more IS scum we take out and the more conviys of oil we destroy the weaker they become. The man is a coward.

Re: Corbyn and his yellow streak
Did you miss the 16000 bombing raids that have already taken place and the plenty more which are already taking place, alwaysaniron?

Why does the UK need to get involved in that too when there are other things the UK could get involved in to do with the fight against ISIS?

Darlo Debs 8:39 Thu Nov 26
Re: Corbyn and his yellow streak
Well clearly not as they dont just operate in Syria. Its too simplistic to say bombing Syria will get rid of the threat of ISIS.

Re: Corbyn and his yellow streak
Alwaysaniron,

Here are some fairly reasonable, as far as I can see but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise, reasons not to bomb Syria. What do you think about them?

1. It will kill innocents. There is no such thing as a bomb so smart that it always hits its target, even supposing the target is legitimately, legally and correctly identified. Some 20 civilians were killed in a US strike in Raqqa only last week.

2. It will increase the flow of refugees. More bombs means more destruction of houses, hospitals, schools and infrastructure and this in turn will mean more people fleeing Syria.

3. Bombing is the best recruiter the IS could wish for because it entirely confirms their picture of the West as a lawless, colonial armed camp determined to wipe out Muslims. The IS recruited more than 6,000 new fighters in the first month of US bombing in Syria last September

4. It won't work. The US made over 1,600 bombing runs in less than year in Syria, with the covert and illegal participation of RAF personnel. During that time IS has massively advanced incorporating whole new swathes of Syria into its territory.

5. It will prolong the war on both sides. In 2013 Cameron lost a vote to bomb Syria...but then he wanted to bomb Assad. That would have benefited the Islamic State. Now he wants to bomb the IS, but that is bound to help Assad.

6. More Western bombing will mean more Russian support for Assad.

Plenty of reasons there which don't seem cowardly. More intelligent and helpful.

It's going well so far, whufcroe. I'm going to post it where it isn't relevant soon too.

So far, nobody has found a reasonable fault with it so I'm still agreeing with it.

Re: Corbyn and his yellow streak
Obviously boots on the ground are needed as bombing alone will not work and never has anywhere for reasons given below but also it clearly needs to be backed up and secured with a ground level operation.

Would Corbyn also not agree to a ground operation?
I think he'd be against that too.

Whether it's right or wrong, not sure. What I'm waiting for is those politicians who want another way to tell us exactly what that is/means...rather than meaningful dialogue
